Background: Sharks have become a greatly feared predator of the seas, largely due to films like Jaws. Statistics vary but the number of deaths world wide from sharks each years appears to be between two and ten. However, several million sharks are killed by humans each year.

The Great White and Mako sharks are considered to be some of the most aggressive sharks, however, their favorite foods are not humans. Great White sharks prefer sea lions, and Mako sharks prefer fish that travel in large schools, such as tuna.

Hammerhead sharks tend to be nuetral towards humans most of the time, and they prefer stingrays as their favorite meal. The one shark humans never need to worry about is the Whale shark. This fish is truly a shark, not a whale, but it doesn't eat the usual type of food eaten by a shark. The Whale shark is a filter feeder, so it only eats little fish, squid, and plankton. Although it's the largest of all sharks, it's also the gentlest shark in the ocean.
